We have two items we want to share with you. The first is about our church building and the second is about a healing home for the Proverbs 24:11 ministry (a ministry for those involved in prostitution and human trafficking).
We just signed a lease, beginning December 1, for a Church home for Calvary Chapel Belem! After a year of meeting in the park for our Sunday morning church services, our Thursday night prayer meetings, and discipleship meetings in the mall, we finally have a place we can call home!
This building is located in the center of Belem, directly across from the main entrance to the college campus, University of the Amazon, (UNAMA). It has a lot of pedestrian traffic as well as direct bus access. We’ve been blessed with a donation to help with deposits/first couple month’s rent, and have a monthly supporter committed to helping with some of the rental cost, but we are still in need of committed monthly contributions for this. We hope, and pray, that as this new church plant settles in over the next couple of years that it will become more financially independent; however until then we need help to support it.
We also have found a possible property for a healing home for the Proverbs 24:11 ministry. It is located about an hour from Belem in the ‘country’. It is a great location and has structures on it that could serve as a home for the women coming out of prostitution and it also has resource rooms/classrooms available for discipleship, counseling, vocational training, etc. The property has a space for a large garden, as well as could accommodate equine for therapeutic purposes (horse and donkeys).
Here is the Need
