Big News from the Fox Family!!!

So much has happened since March’s update and we are excited to share it with all of you!

You all may remember from last month’s update that we will not be teaching at The Amazon Valley Academy (AVA) after this school year, and we thank you all for praying for the next step for us. We also thank you for praying for the new Calvary Chapel church plant that we’ve been praying about for the last few months.

As our time and commitment with The Amazon Valley Academy ends so does our time serving at Calvary Chapel Amazon Valley (CCAV). A big part of our original mission here, aside from teaching at the AVA school, was to help turn the English teaching service that met on the AVA school campus into a functioning church…and prayerfully into a Calvary Chapel.

Our goal was met as of last June 2016 when the English service officially became Calvary Chapel Amazon Valley. Kyle has been blessed to be able to pastor the church the last two years and Krista has felt beyond privileged to be able to disciple some of the ladies from the church. We have been able to witness the Lord do some amazing things these last couple of years…families recommitting their lives to the Lord, Salvations, Biblical truths being learned and shared, and a general awakening of the love of Jesus with people desiring to have a relationship with Him…and for this we are thankful!! We leave the church in good hands…it will continue to be looked after by Pastor Bill Rowley who oversees the AVA school. We ask you all to continue to pray for AVA, and Calvary Chapel Amazon Valley as it continues to bless the students, and the community here.

Our next step of faith…we are, Lord willing, planting a new Calvary Chapel in the heart of the city of Belem! This new church plant, Calvary Chapel Belem, will have a focus on the lost and dying, those who are stumbling towards the slaughter, and those desiring to hear the true Word of God through sound Biblical teaching. Our heart’s desire is to see lives changed and for a revival of this city to take place. Our hope is that as we continue to serve and minister to the people in the Belem area that we will be able to raise up local Brazilian leaders to lead the church, and the ministries under the church.

The Lord has continued to open the door for us to continue with the human/sex trafficking ministry, Proverbs 24:11. We have been meeting with different government officials and those with direct access to the victims of human/sex trafficking in order to gain access to these people and their network, and speaking at churches trying to involve them with this ministry as well. This new church plant, Calvary Chapel Belem, will be the spiritual covering for this ministry as it grows. Much to pray for!

We were blessed to have a short-term mission group from Calvary Chapel Aurora, CO visit and serve with us a few weeks ago. They came to offer us encouragement, love, and support to us here on the mission field. To say they accomplished their goals would be an understatement…they not only blessed us, but also were extremely helpful to other missionaries/mission groups here in Belem we partner with.

The beginning of April, Kyle lead a youth mission trip to a city up-river from us, called Santarem (Alter do Chão). The main purpose of the trip was to help a pastor and his family with a new church plant in the town. We spent a couple of days walking through the town, meeting people, and inviting them to watch the Jesus film at the church, and inviting kids to a vacation bible school. Both Liam and Aidan were able to participate in this trip and it was truly a blessing for Kyle to get to serve alongside with our boys. A few of the boys were invited to share their testimonies, including Aidan, and Kyle shared a message as well.

Praises:

  • A Financial gift was given enabling us to return state-side for the summer!
  • The boys were able to attend the local mission trip with their school, AVA.
  • The doors for the Proverbs 24:11 ministry continue to open with many connections in local churches and the government being developed.

Prayer Requests:

  • A local mission group has suggested that they may donate a building for us to have for free for the new church in the heart of Belem. Pray that the Lord opens or closes the door for this.
  • Krista’s health continues to improve, but she still has yellowish eyes.
  • Pray for our new visas that we need to obtain this summer while in the U.S.
  • A vehicle
  • Pray that people, and churches would be touched by our work here in Belem and commit to supporting us both prayerfully and financially.
